Incorporated in 1980, Going Places of Pleasantville specializes in performing arts tours for amateur
groups, church choirs, community choruses and handbell choirs. Most of our groups are from the United States travelling overseas, to the
UK, the Continent and beyond. We also welcome incoming groups to perform here in the US.
With 30 years experience in the travel industry, Christine Pelham likes to escort all the tours herself.
Her background includes work with the airlines, at airports, in reservations and at city ticket offices, even as flight attendant on the New York Helicopter service. She has spent thirty years in retail travel, specializing in groups.
When not organizing or escorting musical groups, Christine creates painting and art tours as well as soft
adventures like rafting down the Grand Canyon, canoeing in Costa Rica, or bicycling in British Columbia.
Christine sings (alto) in two choirs herself. Weekly with the Emanuel
Lutheran Senior Choir and also with MasterSingers of Westchester giving 2 major concerts each year.
Arriving from England on a one way ticket as part of the “brain
drain” of the 60s, Christine has returned frequently for language refresher courses. She is a frequent walker, “adventure
pussycat” and scribbler of travel introspection.
The testimonials from the directors of choirs and other musical groups who have travelled with Going Places demonstrate Christine’s meticulous attention to detail and personal involvement in setting up the most successful, rewarding and memorable tours for many choirs and other groups.
